WINERY PROFILE: COLET
COLET is a small winery in Pacs del Penedès (Barcelona), located 50 km north of Tarragona and 50 km south of Barcelona. An ideal area for viticulture given the conjunction of climate and suitable terrain.
The COLET family has always worked in the fields and viticulture. And in 1987, moreover, we started to make our own wines and cavas and were taking advantage of the fact that the height and orientation conditions of our vineyards allow us to grow autochthonous varieties such as Xarel.lo but also grapes of Nordic origin such as Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Muscat, etc. Currently we are specialized only in the production of CLÀSSIC PENEDÈS.
CLÀSSIC PENEDÈS is what is known as sparkling wines made with the traditional method (such as CAVA or CHAMPAGNE) but registered and following the rules of D.O.PENEDÈS. Belonging to the DO PENEDÈS, allows us and obliges us to:
- Be 100% ecological
- Minimum aging period of 15 months
- Write on the label the date of disgorgement and the harvest
Our wines are characterized by their freshness, their aromatic grapes, their integrated carbonic acid and their just acidity that positions us as a great bet in pairings, appetizers, drinks, etc.
